So I am going complete my trust this next week, purchase my suppresor, then play the waiting game.
During the time I have to wait for approval I need to get my rifle barrels threaded.
I'm looking for recommendations on who I should use to have my rifles threaded. I want to use someone that does this a lot so that it's done right. I live in Mineral Wells and would travel 1-2 hours to take them to the right person.
Thanks, Brandon

I don't know if others have had the same issues I have with class3machining. But I will never try to use his services again. My issues are you can only contact him VIA email which I hate, I want to be able to talk to a person over the phone before I send them a component to a firearm, and also he has never responded to any of the emails I have tried to send him, which to me is a huge "F you", both of which are very shitty business practices. I'm more then happy to spend more money to get a barrel threaded by someone else now, who actually will talk to me and take the time to respond to a email. Those are my thoughts on class3machining, take them as you want.

Sorry if I never saw the emails, I am very prompt about emails and return them every hour or so throughout the day.

The phone stuff tied up 1/2 my day, I have done the most complex projects (shotgun silencer project, and many more) with 3 emails or less.

Some may think no phone is bad practice, but my work is growing exponently month over month. I have a shop full to the brim with jobs.

If I had an employee I would do phone stuff, but its only me. I answered the phone all day for years when I did retail (DSS), its a huge waste of time. Takes twenty seconds to email. Example: Hey I need a REm 700 threaded in 5/8x24. Ok its x price let me know when you want to drop off. Ok see you at 3 tomorrow.

Edit: And most of my customers use the phone to text and call me (two just text and called to tell me about this thread). Its only new customers I set up via email. After we have a relationship phone is fine, when I had my phone on the website I was getting calls at 10 at night, on sunday etc.

Edit 2: On average I have 3 people no show a week on local drop offs. The vast majority of my business is mail in, so if I did phone stuff again and had no shows there is no telling how much productivity I would lose.

I used Titan Weapons in Benbrook. He's on the forum under the name "THEBBC". He threaded a .308 and a 7mm Rem Mag for me. Great job on both. Private message, email, leave a voice mail. He was good at responding to all.

I had Morgan build me an Upper for my AR. He even made a muzzle device from scratch because he couldn't find one that would complement the rifle like he wanted he Answered emails promptly and has given me lots of advice. Wouldn't hesitate to use him for a build or threading or anything else he offers.

Also I actually prefer email. One because you have a copy of the conversation between the two parties so if one backs out or does you wrong you have proof. Second I just don't really enjoy talking on the phone especially during my little free time.

Morgan is good to go with me I'm the same way I like the email I dropped it off to him and picked it up like a day or 2 later. He takes pride in his work and that is evident. I would prefer him to be fully paying attention to threading my barrel the very best he can rather than pick up a phone. He might lose some business off of not talking on the phone all day but it dang sure looks like he has no shortage of work at all. He had barrels stacked up when I dropped mine off. I tried to call Titan about doing some cerakote work and never heard back from them. The guy that did my cerakote was very impressed with the thread job on my rifle.

A must-have item for every Texas gunsmith...

- Along with the basic tools: The five-pound maul, the big screwdriver and the can of axle grease.

Kind regards, charlesb

In this day and age, the less I have to talk on the phone, the better. Hell, I left a message with a company in Lampasas (they have no email on their website) two weeks ago and have not heard back-great salesmanship there. Morgan has been great about returning my emails and will be getting some business from me in the next month or so.
