I know Jason personally, and he is a great person and stand up guy. He has had some delays recently, but should be fine. I can reach him via phone most of the time. Texts also work well with him. I'd recommend a text, and an email. Phone is sometimes the worst way to reach me when I get busy. Sometimes you have to put the phone up to get stuff completed.
On the SnipersHide link, a lot of the people over there are whiny and b*tch about anything they can, and any delay or minor complaint gets blown out of proportion. Ask me how I know. Drama over there is always promoted and thrive over there. That's why the owner has a nickname of DQ- Drama Queen.

I've talked to him before and seems like a nice guy, just need to follow up on a couple things I'm looking at. Thanks Chad.

No offense to Chad because they are buds. But nice guys go out of business every day. If you can't figure out how to manage your customer base then you won't survive...especially in the world of guns. I might call/email/etc twice...after that I'm out. Many times I don't even give someone a second opportunity. For God's sake, I work hard for my money and I want to give it to someone for something I expect them to show me appreciation for choosing them. That doesn't include no return calls/emails/etc.
What I can say is where there is smoke there is fire. It isn't like there is one DQ crying about stuff over there. This guy has a problem and he better address it...he's losing business every day he doesn't.
So Chad gave you the perspective of a business owner, I'm giving you the perspective of a consumer.
Get with Harrells Precision, they make a great brake at 1/2 the cost. Plus, they know how to treat people.

I contacted JEC Customs back in September 2014 because Curtis at Templar Tactical recommend JEC Customs when I asked him about making some stainless steel silencer brakes for me. Jason at JEC Customs told me he could make four Templar Tactical silencer brakes 2 in 30Cal and 2 22cal along with sleeves and thread protectors in stainless steel and could do this in 4 to 6 weeks. I paid JEC Customs $993.36 for all this work and I have only received 2 30cal S/S brakes from them after 9 months. For 6 months Jason kept giving me the excuses on why my order was not finished and now he won't answer my e-mails or phone calls. After all of this I would strongly suggest anyone needing custom muzzle brakes or other firearms parts not to use JEC Customs unless they want to lose their money.

The least he could do is not process the payments until the product is ready to ship like most online retailers do.

I hate seeing these reports. Jason is a nice guy, a good shooter, and a talented machinist. I hope he gets what ever it is causing these problems corrected.

Seems if this were Bud's cashing your check and not sending your gun or SWFA not sending your scope everyone would be very upset. Another item that can upset customers is when checks are cashed, maker keeps advertising, doesn't answer calls or correspond by phone or text and buyer doesn't get what he has purchased but seller seems to have time to take pleasure trips and dine out and chat on gun forums about various things while the customer is sitting at home out of money and no product.

Swfa has done this. They shipped my scope to the wrong location than didn't do anything to help other than try and call the location they sent it to...
No one was really up in arms... Some brands have a higher reputation than they deserve. Not saying that about jec but I have heard good things about quality

The least he could do is not process the payments until the product is ready to ship like most online retailers do. He shouldn't be taking orders that he can't fill; however, if you don't process payment up front and something goes wrong and it takes longer than expected, people may not have the funds when you do charge them or may back out altogether. IME almost all online retailers charge you the moment you buy it, not when they ship it. Amazon, Brownells, MidwayUSA, Cabelas, Dillards-they all charge you immediately.

I called it in. And gave them the proper information twice. Than there employee pulled an old address even though I gave them the proper one.
When i didn't get th scope I called them. They stated they sent it to the wrong place and that it was there fault. I asked them to send me a new one while they retrieved the original scope. They refused. They called the old address and sat on it for a week. After 25 hours on the phone I got frustrated and drove to pick it up. On top of all that when I called to tell them that I got it, I didn't even get a thank you for fixing our problem.
Still am tempted to sale it. Haven't even shot it once...

At least from my experience with Midway, Amazon, DSG Arms, etc..

I've never seen an online retailer that charges when you purchase. They ALWAYS charge when they ship specifically to avoid stuff like this.
From what I've seen on this and other forums, I will never buy anything from JEC Customs. This lack of customer service and basic business management is appalling. And there is way, way, way too much smoke for there to not be a fire.
I've yet to see one person who said they ordered something in the last year and received it in a reasonable amount of time (a week or two is what I would consider reasonable). I'd be mad if I had to wait a month. 6-9 months and more is beyond ridiculous.

As many people as JEC has screwed over I can't believe anyone is still taking up for them. I ordered a brake from him with a promise of 6 weeks over 7 months ago. Still nothing. I quit calling and wrote it off. IF it ever comes I will throw it in the lake. I will never do business with him or anyone associated with him. Too many good reputable people out there to put of with the BS.

I've never seen an online retailer that charges when you purchase. They ALWAYS charge when they ship specifically to avoid stuff like this. Interesting, because I just placed an order with Opticsplanet, and the moment I hit purchase I got a text from AMEX that I had been charged. So unless they can fulfill and ship an order in about .001 seconds, I got charged and I can guarantee it hasn't shipped. Can also guarantee that later on I'll get an email from them that the items have shipped. They almost always charge you first so that they know you can/have paid. You guys must not shop online very much

I think there is a difference between a retailer and a fab shop. I wouldn't compare those.
Most manufactures will charge early on custom jobs. Not sure if this was custom or a standard product.

I don't know if the retailers I shop at ship at 8:00 AM or 5:00 PM or somewhere in between, nor do I care. But they ALWAYS charge the card the same day.

Agree, do not compare retailer with fab shop which JEC is. When I order a custom barrel, I pay up front (CBI or Apache, both charged up front). XLR Industries charges 50% up front and the remainder prior to shipping. That being said, he shouldn't be taking any additional orders until he clears his backlog. It is obviously months in arrears and that should be cleared before he does any additional business.

The issue is he is fulfilling past orders on future customers dime. Plain and simple.
