My 3X12 came with version 253 installed, and the base screws and plate already threadlocked. I'm assuming it went back as a return, but I'm not complaining.

Do the X-sights seem to hold their zero if removed and reinstalled? Haven't seen where anyone has posted on that subject. I'm thinking of possibly swapping between 2 guns, .223 for coyotes, and 6.5 Grendel for pigs. Ammo can get hard to find, and haven't started reloading for the Grendel yet.

When I upgrade to the latest version 266 or the next, will it remember it's zero? Or do I need to write down the co-ordinates and re-enter them? Seems like I saw conflicting reports on this.

I think version 266 solved the crosshairs zooming off the screen, but they still aren't zeroed in the center IIRC?

thanks,
Ken

Your scope may not be a refurb. ATN watches these threads and is slowly implementing changes based on them.

Mine holds zero just fine when removing and reinstalling. I just make sure I get it in the same spot on the rail.

You should be able to swap between two guns easily. Note that SHOULD is the operative word.

Record your X/Y coordinates for each gun, change as you change guns.

When upgrading firmware, at least thus far, you must re-enter your coordinates.

Looking forward to seeing your two gun idea results. I have contemplated myself but so far haven't tried. I have a 300 blk I want to use as a backup. It used to be on it but I bought an AR10 for a little more stopping power.

As far as centering goes, the reticle is not centered, it moves to the center of the screen as it zooms.

Where did you buy it from? I've had to return one that I locktighted the base and screws but it was forgetting zero and the view finder image at night was less than desirable.

Any consistency on this. My 5-18 doesnt truly centre until it is on 10x.

Have stuck it on an air rifle for just now. Out in the field the view is good in daylight out to 400 yds. Compared it to the addon on my hmr and at dusk you still get a good detailed view on the x-sight in day mode when its too dark for glass but still too light for the addon. So +1 to the x-sight on that one. Have got it working better in night mode but it has meant splashing out on a NM800. Dont see where people think its good out to 400 yards in night mode, might be if you are looking at something the size of a bus. With the NM800 rabbits were good out to about 110 yds and overalll view was fine out to 150yds. After that it was pretty patchy. Assume its down to the auto dimming. Sure it was better when you could choose 720p but didn't reaaly spend any time with it then cos of the centering issue.

At what power probably depends on how far off it is to begin with. Seems like mine is somewhere around 7.

Edit: just checked and 7.5 power is centered for me.

Yeah although looking pretty straight mine zeros on the air rifle at

x -385. y 142.

It was done indoors at around 30 yds so I know it was true without wind effect. Has been pretty windy here for May and getting reliable groups outside with 177 pellets or 17 hmr has been pretty hard.

Hmr was x -443. y 119 but the grouping was flaky with the wind so gave up until it gets a bit calmer. Be nice if they programmed in you could save a couplle or three settings for your different rifles.

Had other digitals cant understand why once zeroed they cant get it to centre there.

Yours is farther off than mine. So the logic tracks, at least with these two scopes.

What kind of air rifle is it on?

Weihaurch HW100KT legal uk sub 12lbs 12 inch barrel good in .17 out to 50 yards. Shot about 650 rabbits with this air rifle in the last 18 months using N550, Photon Mk 1, all at night using these two nv scopes. sold both now Haven't used xsight in earnest yet as only fitted it back on air rifle and zeroed in yesterday. has been in my scope box for a few weeks since i took it off. Since mid March mainly using a NT300 addon on the back of a MTC Mamba on my HMR got at the back end of last year, Anschutz 1517 thumbhole 14" barrel with sak moderator. 246 rabbits in 11 weeks since then.

Prefer the short barrels as I shoot out a truck, easier to manoeuvre. Have about 800-900 of acres of arable fields to cover. Usually cover about two thirds of it in a night. crops getting longer now so will probably have to sit in hotspots rather than keep moving soon then back to moving when back to stubble end july/beginning august depending on how summer goes here.

Hope link works will show the video I made other night with xsight at a village hall park a few miles away from me. mostly shot at 10x went 20x at one point. Not great as was handheld and focus ring still tight yet.
Closest rabbits 75-80 yds container 95-100 yds furthest trees about 145yds. Using NM800 which outshines my T50 and NM400 by a country mile. As I can see for 100s of yards using the NM800 on a spotter can only assume autodimming is hindering the distance I am getting either that or I should have sent the xsight back. Not great really but I could use it on both rifles as I only shoot out to 120yds with the hmr.

I run a 3000mah Novabeam usb charger I think its called on the xsight with 2300 rechargeable energiser nimh batteries. Got the idea off somebody on here beginning with a B, might of been you?

Wasn't me, I borrowed it from someone else. It was a good idea though.
