I remember my first like it was yesterday... and the rules too....
1) A firearm is ALWAYS loaded, even if it's in pieces.
2) If you point at something, you mean to KILL it.
3) You will always know what is BEHIND your target before pulling the trigger.
4) When in doubt, go back to number 1.

I preach to my boys that "Safety" is the #1 thing when it comes to firearms. My boy you see in the pic is 3 and when I allowed him to first hold the rifle he had his "trigger" finger in the correct position above the trigger and along the stock. I guess all those times he was playing with his toy rifles and I taught him proper finger placement actually worked! I was very proud.
