G'day all,

I'm getting set on changing from rage as I'm beginning to revive my passion of archery hunting.

They have never done me wrong but I just feel like something more surWhat.

What I'm thinking of going to are trophy taker shuttle t lock black ops heads.

Thoughts?

Also going to change shafts, going to a new Australian shaft that's just come out.

I prefer meat in it's original packaging.

Trophy taker is coming out with a new fixed head..... I'd go that route

VPA terminators are awesome and as tough as you can get. I shoot a high poundage Monster Safari and launch stuff pretty fast. Zero flight issues even at 350+ fps. And thats with 1.25" cut. The next best part after being bomb proof is you practice with the heads all year and just touch them up on a stone or file.

Thanks for the replies all, I've posted similar questions on aussie forums and Australian archers seem to be pretty set in their ways. Ask a dozen what they shoot and most swear by VPA. I was leaning towards that (or an Australian equivalent Widowmaker) but I've become really intrigued by Strickland Helix broadheads, I'm yet to find anything but glowing reports on them.

Anyone have experience with helix?

Very cool. Might have to buy some of those to try out this year.

I've used the three blade VPA. Good head but just didn't blow me away.

For fixed I've been pretty impressed with my Solid Broadheads

I've shot the helix , really liked the solids better than the silver flames. All of them will shoot if you spend a little time on your bow tuning. And a little on your arrows as well. But the I love the 1.25 inch holes with the 3 blade vpa. I wish I had half the money I've spent on broadheads trying them. I've blew threw hog shoulders and buried them in trees and feeder legs and haven't had any failures. For the price and quality there hard to beat. Considering you can you shoot them all year practicing and just touch them up with a stone or file.

I am not nearly as experienced as most of the guys on THF, but I am starting to believe archery is lot like golf - especially mentally and with regard to equipment. Almost all of the equipment is top quality but it's often what fits your eye that gives you the most confidence and the best results.

If you try the Shuttle T's and they are as accurate for you as the ones I have shot, it will be difficult to consider anything else. Unless of course you are mental like I am and they don't fit your eye because they just look too small to be deadly.
