All I could find about the proposed dates was an article from the Houston paper

I don't think the migratory bird seasons are set in stone till Sept.1. I have noticed that the Feds. usually go with the states proposed dates

There is time, and you must take it, to lay your hand on your dog's head as you walk past him lying on the floor or on his settle, time to talk with him, to remember with him, time to please him, time you can't buy back once he's gone" GBE

Close.

The feds set a range of dates and a range of bag limits (conservative, moderate, or liberal) that flyways/states can hold their hunting seasons. It is up to the states biologists to choose the best dates for that particular state based on harvest potential, hunter satisfaction, and conservation. The states then propose those dates/ harvest back to the feds.

Most of the time if it is within the feds proposed date range- then its all good.

Can I use leftover teal tags from last year or do I need to go to Carter's Country and get new ones?

It depends on whether you paid the extra cost for the exemption. It'll say on each tag.

That sucks. I'll be elk hunting around that time. Anybody want to borrow my teal tags?

I paid extra last year and got the 2 year tags. Better deal you just have to ask for them. They only have so many and they like to keep them for themselves.

Sorry but this is not true. A federal warden told me that there would be at least the same number of GWT tags issued as last year, maybe more.
