OK, I had a pond built near Gatesville, Texas. Was hoping for about a 2-3 acre finished product. Not real satisfied with the outcome. Oh, it holds water and site, as suggested by the contractor appears good. However, actual surface area size of finished and filled pond, as estimated by contractor, is only about 40-60% of what contractor indicated surface area to be. I'm done with this contractor. Contractor in retrospect appears to be someone who promises more but delivers less. Basically, I feel a little taken; probably due to my own ignorance about this type of project.
I need a professional, legitimate, and trustworthy pond designer/consultant in Central Texas. Can someone here suggest someone in the Temple, north Austin, Lampasas area that has a track record of pond/lake building that can help me out with further development of this project? Regards and thanks.

Call Bob Lusk at PondBoss magazine and see if he knows someone that he could recommend. The other two suggestions are good also.

I would not use Lochow Ranch. I used to work for this company, and I all I can say is that the owner may not be the most ethical person in the world. I would recommend anyother pond company in Texas before I would ever use Lochow. I would dig a pond by a shovel before using Lochow.

Jehnske out of Fredricksburg. They are NOT cheap but they build the biggest and the best in the hill country. They make lakes that hold water. They are by far the very best in the hill country. And they travel. I have seen them build a 30 acre lake in a drought and have seen it hold water thru the drought. Now it's full to the gills and the dam didn't bust.
