definitely a proven operating system...
by at least 3 different Mfg.
More than 3 that I can recall
Browning via FN, Miroku and Remington
These are just the ones I can actually remember the names of, there are also Chinese, Russian and middle eastern knockoffs that I cannot recall the names of. I actually had a Chinese clone that surprisingly, was very well made. I have a Yamamoto still in the box new that was a gift. I also have a very nice clean Nikko. I have a Charles Daly, a Savage 720 and a 745, both well made, but a nightmare to disassemble. I have a couple of European FN versions, along with some Model 11 and Sportsman model Remington's, but none compare to the late 50's Browning original.
Good looking gun you have, will make someone a nice collector. It maybe helpful to look at the bottom of the barrel and see what the bore diameter is and then mic the choke to see if it is in fact a cylinder choke, as it should be.
