Couple of shots of the flooding in my area. The Cibolo creek at FM 2252 and the Cibolo at Evans Rd. just west of IH 35. The last photo is of a couple of Woodies up by Comal Springs. Looks like mama might have been fooling around with someone of a different species maybe. The normal coloration is shown in the top bird.

Looks like his wing isn't tucked into the side pocket all the way.

IMO it looks like a Mallard is the poacher in the wood pile on that bottom bird with that blue wing chevron and russet coloring...Great pictures.

Told my sister last nite that she needs to get some pic's of the Blanco around her house, just west of Wimberly and about an 1/8th of mile north of the river. Their house is built on a solid rock slope and the water flow under the pier & beam construction has moved the house just enough to cause the floors to start to buckle. They were busy running an extension cord to a neghbors house 5-600 yards away to power their water well and moving freezers and refrigerators over to the guys house to save all their food.

Water water everywhere...Ya'll need to STOP prayin' for rain in North Texas...we'll be happy to share and send some of Texoma's over supply your way, instead of throwing it away over the Spillway.
Ron

X2... you can just see the normal coloration under that part of the wing and to the side.

thanks for the comments. It could be the way the wing is tucked but have never seen this color on one before.

Hey, Wiley C., I hear you about the water. Shame we can't store it somewhere that needs it. It has rained here almost all day. Slow and steady.

Woodies get totally confused when their habitat floods like that. You will see them in areas and times that you normally never see them.

I drove down Evans Rd. today and you can pass under the railroad again. Still a lot of water moving but at least traffic has
opened up through there.
