I'm heading to the lease soon... if the rain will let up... to fill feeders, install hog pipes, and dig a pig hole (post hole filled with corn). Toying with getting some Hog Wild or Hog Out to pour over the corn in the post hole. What are your thoughts on either? I'm also tempted to just get some jello packets to pour in the hole with the corn instead.

Save your money, Jello packets are plenty good enough if you have the pigs. Be prepared, the spot where my pipe and 3 holes are looks like bomb craters! Good luck to you.

digg hole with post hole digger... Thought that was why landwowners hate hogs... If hogs show up on cam herr, will take &. hand throw corn were its spread out, hogs dont tear up deep holes as much then...

I'm also tempted to just get some jello packets to pour in the hole with the corn instead. I've used the Hog Wild and it works. Make sure you get the berry flavored. I'm not sure that it would be any cheaper going the koolaid route with the amount needed. Hog wild has some other stinky stuff in it also. I think the last batch of hog wild was $8.50 at academy

Thanks for the info.
I have a spot that's away from any livestock. On a previous lease, I've used post holes to keep them coming in for a week or so. They make a wash-tube hole, but it's ok considering where I'm going to do it.

Again save your money, Jello and Big red work wonders. Heck even sour corn gets them coming in and you can make that for free.

Jello andor koolaid powder. With all this rain there are too many other plentiful food options (fresh greens plants flowers fruits roots insects snakes worms grubs soft easily to root grounds etc. Plain corn hasn't been a priority on my feeders/game cams. My roll barrels have dry jello powder in em with 25 lbs corn and multiple hogs are hitting em hard every night
Fast paced gregarious society forgets the healing power of solitude. It's worked thousands of years. Casting a line/gazing into a campfire/sitting in a blind after a long week is medicine for the soul. The serenity and peacefulness of it all is majestic.

With all the rain honestly the hogs are going to be eating green food in or near cover for the next couple of weeks. Your best bet is to hunt tanks near cover in the middle of the day.

Go to the feed store and get molasses. Mix it with your corn, pour it on a log, or if you have a gravel road pour it on the road. Hogs will come running. Or you can save your time and $ and just use regular corn, it works just as well

Apparently, the hogs in north Texas don't like molasses.

Apparently, the hogs in north Texas don't like molasses. Bought a 50# bag of that flaked molases several years back.. Was getting bout 9-12 hogs on trail cam's... Poured some out, nothing, took empty butter cantainer, poured molases, corn frooze it, then put out, nothing.. Made a drip, 2leter bottle drilled hole in bottom, pored in molases, then hot water. Did walk up on 2-4 hogs beded just in tree line boit 25 yrds from drip... Maybe just something new, & they weren't used to it... Have heard of person use the liquid molases in bulk, forget were he got it, he said hogs like it...

It works the best when its hot and dry (middle of the summer). But like I said in my other post, regular corn works just as well.
