Ok, I just bought a new FNS-9. I have never bought a new handgun before. So before I take it straight to the range to shoot it, are there any steps I should take first?
Not new to shooting, just new to new handguns.

First and foremost - clean and lube any new gun before shooting it.
Then go enjoy your new pistol!

I have an FNS-9, tremendous handgun. Fun to shoot and pretty accurate. Removing the slide is a little tricky till you've practice with it. Great choise, mine likes 100gr HBRN and 115gr HBRN on top of vv340 powder. The hollow bace gives you longer shoulders for better barrel contact and improved accuracy.

Ok, so I ran 150 rounds thru it. Nice gun. But I was no where near as accurate as I have been with other guns that were broken in. I think I should have changed out the backstrap to the flatter one. The trigger is kinda strange as it has a double motion. Seems to move a lot before actually getting to the point of firing. That will take some getting used to. So, I need to shoot a lot more to get really comfortable with it. I'll probably run a few more boxes thru it next weekend.
