I was at APR Saturday picking up the rifle that I had the face lift done on for my grandson to shoot and dropping of the barrel and action for the 26 Nosler build that they are going to do for me. While there I was looking at a Meopta 6-18X50. Granted I was just outside looking down the street with it but I was pretty impressed.
If anyone has one I'd like to hear your thoughts and opinions.

In their price range you just about cant beat them. Great low light scopes. Very crisp optics thats found on scope 500 and up beyond the cost of the Meopta's

I'm very impressed with my 3.5-10x44 with German #4 reticle.

Don’t roll those bloodshot eyes at me.

Meopta makes very good optics across the board, whether you're talking about rifle scopes, binoculars, or spotting scopes.

Many don't realize that they actually build some optics for other high end brands, and they provide lenses and optical assemblies for other manufacturers. For example, Meopta builds the current spotting scope offered by Nightforce. They build the "Euro" series binoculars for Cabelas. They supplied coated lenses and erector assembly parts for the previous generation Zeiss Conquest series scopes that were assembled in the US. They are one of the premier lens grinding and coating suppliers in the optics industry and are the OEM supplier of lenses for several optics manufacturers.

Their stuff is top drawer; their brand just hasn't been very well known in the US until recently.

I currently have a Meopro 6X42 rifle scope, and I like it a lot! My only complaint about Meopta's scopes is they tend to be longer and heavier than the average competing scope of the same magnification range.

Very good glass and they do make our (Cabelas) Euro scopes. If you are going above 3-9x40 and wanting to shoot beyond 150 yards, I suggest getting a model with parallax adjustment.

Well I've got a 6-18X50 ordered so I'll see how I like it once my rifle is completed.

I think you will like it. I have the same opinion as the others. They are basically the same scope as the Conquest for less money. They are hard to beat in a hunting scope for the price. If you like bdc's, they have good one. I think their #4 is the best on the market.

I got the Z plex II reticle. Mainly because I found a smoking deal on one. Got it for $150 less that I could find anywhere else.

I've got a 3.5-10x44 with the zplex. It is a good, can't go wrong with it plex reticle. You'll probably be better off with it than the #4 in a 6-18x50.

You can also get on Meopta's ballistic calculator and play around. You will not have hash marks but it will give you the drop to the top of your bottom crosshair post. I have checked two of mine and they were both pretty close. It let me get a very good idea of holdover out to about 400 yds.

Well unfortunately they don't don't have any data for the caliber of rifle that this scope will be put on. realmad
