Antique composite Spanish cup hilt sword/ rapier. Blade is from 1800s. Cup, cross bar, copper grip wire, brass ferrules, and pommel from 1700-1800s. The Spanish held on to their beloved cup hilt designs much later than the rest of Europe. Armories would rework good parts back in to useable swords. This one is a little nicer and was likely an officers dress sword in traditional Spanish style. It was also common for officers to hold on to family heirlooms and reuse
blades or hilts. $575 here in CS. That's about as cheap as you will ever find
an antique cup hilt. Shipping would be $40 including insurance. Feel free to send any questions- Toledo321 at 979-two zero four-0635
