Anyone ever have an issue with the "Gate Spinner" type feeders plates? My feeders are from Avantage Outdoors and these bad boys will sling some corn and put an eye out if not careful. Well anyways during my first test throw after set-up I noticed the two flip gates on the ends flew off. I made a simple vertical adjustment for the time being, but I'll need to fix it right here directly. Any ideas why they came off?

Not familiar with that type of feeder. Sounds like the spinner plate could have been to close to the bottom of the feeder barrel/hopper. When the motor spun and the gates extended upwards, they could have hit the bottom of the barrel/hopper breaking them loose.

Is the motor shaft 1/8"? If so I can maybe help.

I had one come off of an All Seasons this year, seems like the tabs wouldn't allow it to rotate upwards where they would come off. I ended up finding the flap a good ways away from the feeder and just bent the channel walls in some, haven't had any more problems yet. Once the flaps are in there it's hard to believe they'd ever come out.

I have an eliminator plate I can't use as my Monarchs have 1/8" shaft. If yours is 1/4" it will work for you.

I'll check it out next weekend when I'm back at the property.

Find you an Aluminum spacer sleeve that is 1/4" OD that is 1/8" ID, slide it over the motor shaft and inside the spinner plate 1/4" opening. Might have to drill the spacer out to 1/8" and then drill/tap a hole to allow you to put in the set screw.

Once the flaps are in there it's hard to believe they'd ever come out. I bought another $10 plate from Buccees and used the end flaps from it. Simple fix by bending the tabs out to install and then bending them back in.

if you can somehow get the Eliminator to work then I highly recommend them over this one if you have coons, squirrels or hogs
