What do you guys think? What do you think? The floor is two extra long pallets and will be 12' long. Front is 40" tall and back is 48" tall. Planning to add a 60" upright in middle and then connect the 48" and 60" with sloped boards for a roof. Front half of roof will be totally open.

Where do you plan on putting the blind? On a private pond?

That looks like a good use of some old pallet wood. up

Well if public, good to use clean burning wood. ha ha...

But good to know controllability of water level. Don't want to put blind in a spot where blind washes a way, been there... Put those pallets on foundation max pool level. 2 4x4s on cinder blocks, like below my "Dr. Duck" style blind...

Max pool level, just right...

Below is a link how I built my blind.....

Thanks Guy. The good news is I'm pretty sure where full pool is after this past month. I need to grab a couple more pallets so I'll have sides and a back. I like how I can prep the parts in a modular way and then do final construction quickly on site.

You might want to put a solid floor on it or fill in the gaps most of the way at least.
- Less chance of getting hurt/twisting an ankle
- Prevent a whole box of shells, flashlight or other necessities from falling through

Good point. And standing up to shoot not very safe, unless you make a rule sit shoot only, which is how how I shoot out of a blind any way..

Guy,

Very well written plans for that Dr. Duck Style Blind. Nicely done. Would you mind if I posted those plans on my websites DIY section giving you full credit?

Let me know.

Absolutely I am filling in the floor slats! Now that I've studied Guys link and plan dimensions in wondering about turning my 6x4 pallets and doing two of them side by side to give a bit more depth to the blind.

On the pallets just put a floor where your feet are. I have hunted out of pallet blinds and it is not good getting your foot stuck between the slots in the pallet.

If this is going onto a private spot, you might try considering a trailer blind. I built or had a hand in probably over 100 blinds in my lifetime. I finally said enough is enough, this last blind is with me until I quit duck hunting. That aint likely to happen anytime real soon..
