I thought raccoons would be fair game for the coyotes at my place. Looking at game came pictures tonight. The coons and coyotes have been taking turns at the feeder eating corn for months. As soon as one would leave the other would come in 5-6 times a night. Finally got pictures of both at the feeder at the same time. Two 30# + coons just stand there and watch a big healthy coyote walk by 10 feet away. After he passed they went back to eating. Coyote didn't even look at them.

Coon is a lot more fight than a bunny or rodent, but if the dog was more hungry than the damages, I bet you'd have some cool photos!

Inside every 'healthy' full grown coon...is a Can'O Kick Azz, Coyotes know this and will always pick a food source less able to defend itself..when available. (Rabbits, Mice, Carrion)

I never really thought a coyote would attack a coon, but certainly never thought they would be dinner companions.

I have tried to use coons as coyote bait before and nothing eats them. They will lay there a couple days without one bite but the hog next to it is eaten up completely. I guess they want to make sure it's dead before taking a bite

Coons are one of a bobcats favorite, put a coon carcass out with a gc. If there are bobcats around.
