I am not trying to rain on your parade but that bird neck is awful! Looks like it's twice the normal length! The birds beak isn't even right color! Maybe it's the picture! But if your happy with it, that's all that matters! It's groomed extremely well but I'm just stuck on the neck!

Yes you are. I'm sure it prompts lots of memories every time you see it. Nice sprig.

No if I pay 200-300$ for something I expect good quality! If the customer is happy that is what matters! I'm not trying to hate! I been down that road before!

We will chalk this up to some constructive criticism. No harm done.
Your are correct though, the bill isn't 100% accurate.. If I had to put a percentage on it, I would say it's in the ballpark of 85% similar to the real thing. It was the best option I had.

The neck, however, is within a quarter of an inch of being just as it was when it circled for the second time of the last flight that it ever took. This beautiful creature was made by God, and it isn't identical to any other Pintail out there. He came in circling with his wife and two other close friends, of which only one survived. Time of death was approx 10:15 am, January 17th.. We had an awesome spread of 48 decoys, 2 mojos and a jerk rig. It was the last hunt of the season I had with my brother.

Just like Famous Amos said above, it invokes one of the best memories I have of this past hunting season. Let me list all the details below, and you tell me if it wasn't one of the my best hunts all year:

4:00 am, my alarm went off and I got to spend another day hunting.
My truck started without hesitation.
The gas station we always stop at before we head out had cold Red Bull and hot, fried, gut bomb burritos.
Got to the boat ramp, and my boat started without hesitation.
I remembered to put the plugs in the boat.
I had an awesome day with my brother.
Between us, we took 5 different types of duck.
My waders didn't leak.
At NO point during the day did I ever fall or trip and fill my waders with water.
We never used a duck call the entirety of the hunt.
Neither of us shot any of our decoys.
We still had dry toilet paper in the boat to help relieve the aforementioned burritos.
We now have meat in the freezer and a "long neck" on the wall lol
And I had an awesome day with my brother.

Now tell me something, how much do you think this bird means to me??
Think MasterCard said it best - Priceless

Your last post should have been your first with the photo of the mount.

Your first post was an endorsement for a taxidermist. The reaction is much different judging the mount as an endorsement for a taxidermist vs judging it as something that serves as a memorial for a great hunt.

Very interesting... I didn't realize it was a specimen bird... an oddity. That does make it cool! I had the same inner reaction as other's outer reaction, that guy is recommending a taxi that put that bird's feet in a vice and winched his head out an extra foot ! laugh

Now anytime any one visits they can say hey... would ya look at the NECK on that pintail!

It's awesome to have a mount that reminds you of something special, to bad you got hosed by the taxidermist

Cool story though up

If you put sunglasses and mardi gras beads on the mount it looks bad azz!

Really! You remember a pintail in flight for two reasons, neck and tail!

Ohhh! That's a good idea!! I could carry him with me in the truck on opening day of this coming season and he may serve as a good luck charm, with the beads and all. I like it

A sprig can't pull off beads and glasses, only a spoonie can make that work

Maybe the beads.. I think a Woodie would be the only legit duck to actually sport some shades.
