Wish I could be more help but since you can't feed, hunt at night or with dogs its tough. Gonna have to get out there and do some scouting! Good luck sir!

As is the case in most public hunting areas, the denser and harder to penetrate the area the more hogs there seem to be. They usually prefer the roughest cover that they can find when being pressured by hunters.
Born to hunt and fish.

Whin i hit a new place.. Use my TOPO USA to look place over.. Some one had thread bout maps of WMA's in Discussion Form , if remeber right. Check the edges, valleys creeks streams write wayward points, find close placr ta park... Lots of footwork.. Have had great success.. Alot depends on pressure, no night hunts so hogs can escape surounding pressure from near bye land... Find hard ta reach, thick area, slow walk, find sign, slow down eyes roaming looking for movement... Enjoy the time, have fun... Best wishes..

They definitely move around a lot but there is absolutely no hunting pressure on them this time of year so once you find a location with tons of activity and signs then explore that area. It may take yo a few trips in that area to see one. try to figure out which direction they come from or where they go. Your best bet is to find one or 2 moving in the last 15 minutes of shooting time since that is when I typically see them in the SAM. Or if you can figure out where they are bedding up during the day that would be another good spot. Colt45 is an expert on that There are no secret spots since the pigs can be there one week and gone the next. You just have to walk a few miles and look for signs of major activity. Very tough hunting this time of year because the canopy is so thick. You cant see very far because of the growth. Not sure what all this rain will do but I typically hunt the lowlands by the creek beds. COlt45 has a lot of hog hunting public land experience so if he says they will move to high ground then there is probably some truth to that good luck and post up what you find watch out for things like this. I found this in January while scouting a new hunting area. Needless to say I havent been back there!! That place gave me the creeps for some reason even before I found this thing.

dont get confused... He's talken about the other colt45 whin mentioning expert ... i'm de of de THF ... i get lucky a lot... Whim ya wonder about the woods & huntsolo tis easy ta sneak up on sleeping hog's & scare de chit-outa-em.. Easy ta follow de trail, folllow de poop... A bad day is better than a good day, unless ya get hurt... So stay safe... & as Bigfoot say's, may take few trips, have sat many hours in bow stand surrounded by hog sign, with good view, most is done at night, less pressure... Good ta see ya Bigfoot , best wishes ta origonal poster... Stay safe...
