I'm a member of TU and RMEF and would like to join a mule deer foundation, wanted to see if they have one that is specific to this state?

Doubt it..TDA & TWA maybe. Best bet for $ spent is pray for rain, get a lease and dump time and money into it.

The west Texas chapters of the Mule Deer Foundation seem to do a lot of projects for mule deer in west Texas. You'd have to specifically inquire as to what % of chapter money goes into the national office.

I'm in San Antonio.

I see they have a Corpus Christi chapter. Why not one for San Antonio ?

They do not seem to do a very good job at keeping their website current or updated......

"Puro San Antonio."

I bought a table at the San Antonio Quail Coalition a few years ago and brought some friends. They got my name wrong, and I didn't hear from them again in any sort of mailing or phone call until the next banquet I got 1 email. Lame.

I'm sure it's not just San Antonio. In many of these chapter settings the "organizers" are way too busy being big shots and playing the good ol' boy to ever do the mountains of grunt work to really make a fundraiser a success. There's usually one or two ladies working their tails off, then when they get fed up, it falls apart.

A lot of folks involved in these type of things don't even hunt, just want a committee spot and the socializing that comes with fundraising.

A friend organized a "1st annual" MDF banquet in west Texas last year. I drove out there to support him. Doubt there's going to be a 2nd. He sounds done.

Sure thing, as long as it's not just you, me, and the director. Send me a pm when you have time.
