Are y'all okay with some of the foundation's stances on hunting? Just throwing that out there in case it matters.

Please elaborate. I'm just too lazy to research it myself this morning.

Usually very anti-HF/game farming.

On the flip side they're usually very anti-wolf and do quite a bit for youth programs, etc.

I'm middle of the road on that topic.

I'm pro high fence but not so much for "game farms" that are strictly put and take.

a lot of organizations take the topic of put and take as a property rights Issue when I and many others see it as a ethical issue that is property specific

There is a lot of grey area when it comes to breeding, releasing and hunting of deer. Most people form opinions on the matter having not been around it a whole lot and form opinons based on others stories or very limited personal experience. its gonna be very hard to find and organization that a person is going to agree with 100% on every legal and ethical issue when it comes to wildlife and private property ownership

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Putting on a benefit fundraiser is hard work for the volunteers. The number of man-hours (or 'person-hours') that most volunteers put in, all for no pay and in some cases, little appreciation from either the attendees or those that benefit from the funds raised, tends to cause a lot of good quality volunteers to stop volunteering.
If you are a volunteer for MDF or DU or Friends of NRA or ANY of the non-profits that support hunting and shooting, THANK YOU!

If you're interested in finding one of these events to go to or to volunteer for, look up their websites and check out what's around your area. Here are just a few:

http://www.friendsofnra.org/default.aspx
https://www.ducks.org/support/donateonli...m_campaign=paid
http://www.whitetailsunlimited.com/
http://www.nwtf.org/

Read about what they do. Find out how much of what they raise actually comes back to the area that raised the funds. For some, it just might be a surprise at how much or how little comes back.

Here are some Facebook pages to help you dig up more info:

https://www.facebook.com/DucksUnlimited?fref=ts
https://www.facebook.com/WTXFNRA.org?fref=ts
https://www.facebook.com/MuleDeerOrg?fref=ts
https://www.facebook.com/ntxfnra?fref=ts
https://www.facebook.com/groups/2207977294/

Find one YOU like and join or attend. If there's not a chapter/committee/group in your area, check into what it takes to start one. You'll work hard but it can be, and is, rewarding.

Pay it forward - Kids are the future.

Rifles are similar to boats and young women...there's no end to how much money you can pour into them without making them any more useful.
