Got one already, but wouldn't mind another. Glad to see them doing this. [URL=http://s720.photobucket.com/user/09231967/media/RemingtonRand1911A1.jpg.html

can a MASS order be done thru 1-ffl holder? like a group buy from THF?
I know the CMP has some goofy rules for buying firearms.

The CMP is the only outfit that can ship guns direct to buyer. They will do background check.

Me too. My grandfather's WWI one was stolen.
I emailed the CMP for if/when.

I wonder what the price will be on these? My Remington Rand is pretty tight and in great shape, but the one's I fired in the military as late as the early 90's were so rattly I wouldn't carry or shoot one on a regular basis if I had other options. I saw a Rand at a local gun shop in worse condition than mine priced at $1,300.00 about a year ago, right next to a brand new Colt 1911A1 priced at $1,100.00. It was hard to resist bringing mine in and doing some horse trading. Maybe I shoulda' made a deal back then. Depending on what they price the new releases at, values of those already out there could plummet.

IF, they are close to being reasonable, I want 2 for a double shoulder holster for "open" carry! I'm kidding, I'm out on the open carry. But my granddad needs one, to replace the one he left on the beach, leaving the Philippines. AFTER it was secure! He is 92 and still mowing the grass around the farm in Canton!

I'm guessing these will have to go through an FFL?

I just spoke with a lady at the Civilian Marksmanship Program. She said that it will be a few years before they get any of the 1911s. And that is only if the government actually releases them. If she was well informed, it is going to be a while.
