I have held one at a gun show. The gator camo adds nice texture to the grip. Threaded, has a scope rail, and accutrigger. Looks pretty nice to me.

I like the look of it, and I'm not a Savage fan. I assume it'll shoot great, but I'd like to hear from someone that's used one.

When I was looking for a nice handy .22 Mag rifle it was between this and the Ruger American Compact Rimfire. I opted for the Ruger because it was quite a bit cheaper. About the only thing I like more on the Savage is the included weaver rail but it wasn't enough to make me get it over the Ruger.

I picked one up and had a look at it the other day. Fat barrel, and quite heavy. Probably shoots like a champion. I decided that it was just too heavy.

All savage rifles are crap. I will send you beans in trade for savage rifles. I have plenty of beans and many accurate rifles.

I'm not a big fan of Savage, but I do believe that they shoot great. And this little rifle actually (for a Savage) is nice looking. I can see that with the short heavy barrel, it would be good for gators. It was pretty heavy. Not a deal killer for me, but I have enough 22's already.

Isn't this just the MKII FV SR with a different stock? And, the regular model is much cheaper.

It was a bad joke. I have been buying nothing but savage and selling all my other rifles off.

I wouldn't have one just because it is associated with that clown.

I would agree with most TV personalities being clowns but I met Troy at the shot show in 2013 and he is a genuine country boy, not everyones cup of tea but a true country boy everyday. I just stopped him in the lobby at the hotel at the end of the day to say hi and he visited with me like we were standing on the boat ramp after a work day.

I met him at Gander Mtn in Lewisville last year. Your right very nice guy. Very down to earth and friendly.

Thanks. I have a much better story from that same shot show, but it would sound like bs if I told it on the ol' interweb. If you ever meet me I would be glad to tell it.

He may be "cool" but he sounds more backwards than my backwoods relatives. I question the sponsors who use him thought process. Used to be you wanted an articulate and clean cut guy like Nolan Ryan supporting your wares.

Nah. But then again, I'm not either. Like previously stated, he isn't everyone's cup of tea. I'm sure he is great at what he does. Not so sure how good a judge of .22 rifles he is though.

For the bayou he is in his realm. In the store when I'm buying a gun his swamp man Ebonics don't carry any weight with me.

His act is selling tv shows though.

Look at it this way. Do you think Obama would have gotten elected speaking Ebonics? Probably not. He comes off as educated, articulate and caring. He talked his way into the office and our wallets because it sure wasn't because of his knowledge and ability.

His act has him on TV too.

WOW! Just because someone does not major in speech and communication your going to get all judgmental? He talks JUST like most of the rest of the folks that live in that part of La. I would rather have a REAL person sell me anything than some poser/actor slick willy me into a purchase!

Most likely they finally put those bookies in the field and figured out they couldn't tie their shoe without a book or instructor holding their hand....
