This is what has been happening in my shop this spring. I tried a lot of new things and changed up some of the old! Most of the metal came from a couple of old sawmill blades.

By request, I made 3 Karambit
knives

Kitchen knife from sawmill blade with handmade burlap Micarta
handle

Skinner

Hunter

Bowie from sawmill blade. Used stag and stainless bolster.

Warnie blade

EDC with moon glow handle material

Skinner with Moonglow Handle material.

Kitchen chopper from sawmill blade and black Micarta/Palm handles

Made a tool to carry at work

Did you forge the axe? I have been looking for one to handle, but a smaller sized than the ones on the apparatus, more a belt size or a little bigger, say 28".

Are you looking for a custom axe or the right size quality axe? Here's a link to Gransfors you can use either inspiration or to find the right axe Gransfor Forest Axes US retailers are easy to find on Google.

The axe was a 6 lb rectangular flathead truck axe. I re-profiled it to the sharp you see and shaved it down to just under 4 lb. I also made a shorter handle for it from hickory. I wanted a 1 handed axe for forcing light jobs. I already feel like I'm a couple hands short!
