As the title says, I got Lil Nasty back yesterday. Still waiting on my second mount, which should be finished in a couple of weeks.

My dad (PMK on here), my BIL, and I went on a cull hunt out in Ozona a couple of days before Christmas, and this little nasty cull walked out. He was the perfect candidate for my 30-06.

I've always liked racks that were different and decided to get a panel mount on this one.

Anyways, here he is..

Great cull. Probably was as old as Methuselah. I like the dark leather, classy.

Thanks. It was hard for me to age this guy since he had a bummed front leg. I tried to compare him to some of the other bucks that were out and about when he showed up and I was guessing he was 3.5-4.5 due to body size...but I don't know how that bummed leg could have affected it?

Thanks, I have a really good taxidermist up My dad is managing this property, and said the LO was happy to get rid of him.

Hopefully my shoulder mount will be finished within the next couple of weeks. I got a picture of him yesterday when I was picking up this panel mount, but the shoulder mount was still drying. I'll show him off when he gets home to show his real beauty. I feel like a kid waiting on Christmas morning

Thanks SniperRAB. I agree with you on that. I've spent countless hours in a stand with him and can only remember of one bad experience. He basically woke me up about 10 seconds before he shot a hog. I was pretty small still, I was barely awake, and had just laid eyes on the hog when my dad shot. I thought it was a bear and once we got down out of the stand and drove to it in the truck, I would not get out. "there's a bear out there. I'm staying RIGHT HERE!" lol. Now that I look at it, I guess it wasn't so bad and more funny now that I'm older lol

I can add to that funny factor ... He was only about 4 years old and dead asleep leaning over into the corner when the hog walked out, a really big black boar hog. I woke him up before I shot and he was barely awake, looked over the edge of the window, boom and he lost sight of it, as it dropped in its tracks but was behind a big cedar stump and he thought I missed it, so it must be roaming around still. I almost didn't get ZK out of that tower stand for the short walk back to the truck in the dark since he thought it was a bear and still thinking I missed. And then I couldn't get him out of the truck to help me load it.

yep, some really nasty antlers out on the place in Ozona I am trying to manage and get back into check. I had seen this one on game cams dating back a three years and definitely put on the hit list (along with the 4.5 y/o billy goat looking spike ZK killed last year). I am pretty sure the above was at least 4.5 years old based on having 3 years worth of pictures of him (or his twin with the slick main on the left with short G1). Also have some out there completely missing G1s on both side that are on the hit list if we ever see them during season. Starting to see some much better quality mature ones too now that I am feeding year around. LO is a city girl, pretty green thinking and not really wanting anything killed but realizes that its needed to keep herd population under control with the limited nutrition available.

pretty cool looking freak! I am patiently waiting on the other to get finished since I have only seen pictures so far.

Seen some cool Bucks out there in Ozona and almost hopped on a place there for a second lease and still have a few good friends down there, seems to be which side of the Interstate you are on for the quality there..My buddy had a few potential Dandys showing up on Camera

Man, that's just a good looking buck. He's built like a mule! I've noticed a lot of them with the chocolate colored horns similar to that pic you posted.

This picture shows the one I passed last year. The picture quality is horrible, but his horns were extremely dark as well. Much darker than what this picture shows.
