What is the best 20 ga combo for turkey hunting you have seen or use.Combo meaning Gun, choke, pattern, shell type, shot size, Barrel length and effective killing range. Interested in 20Gauge only. I have two 12 ga turkey guns already.

Have watched turkeys roll at 40+ yards with Remington 870 youth, factory full choke and Heavy shot 3 inch #6 shot. Killed a turkey yesterday at 35 yards with a Benelli Montefeltro at 35 yards with Remington pheasant 2 3/4 inch #6 shot. Just have an improved modified in it and do not see a way for a turkey to survive a shot with that combo inside 40 yards.
I prefer heavy shot #6 loads as each shot has plenty of energy at 55 yards to break a turkey neck, and with a good choke patterns can be dense enough to reach out even with the smaller guages
lf the saying "Liar, Liar your pants on fire" were true Mainstream news might be fun to watch

Do a search for some of my posts. I've killed a turkey at 67 steps with my youth 870 and TSS 9's. It broke both legs and a wing at that distance as well. I've seen 20+ birds die with this gun the last 4 years.

I went through that phase until I was educated by a mentor, Mr. Tom Ruland. I shoot a 28 for dove and do better shot for shot with it than I did a 12 gauge.

With a little fine tuning, a 20 gauge can be just as efficient at harvesting turkeys as most 12 gauges. The Federal Heavyweight loads are just the ticket if you're not into handloading TSS. Just be sure and pattern your gun, and that your POA and POI are right on the money.

What choke would you shoot with this load? I have a XFull turkey choke and a Full choke. I will need to shoot them to see which works best I'm sure. I have been wagging a Mossberg 935 3 1/2" gun around on my hunts and it wears me out. My 3" Charles Daly 20 Ga. is much lighter and more enjoyable to shoot.

I am looking into getting a new set up this summer and was thinking about the 870 youth model and a Jeb`s choke. Does anyone shoot this combo in 20 ga?

I would try the Federal Heavyweight #7 shot and a Turlock choke made specifically for this load. I did a little research over at Old Gobbler and there's quite a few shooting this combination successfully. Gman
