Regarding all the hoopla now over Open Carry potentially passing, has there been any indication from legislators that there could be an alternative or additional sign regarding Open Carry in businesses? Meaning will business owners now have the discretion to allow Concealed Carry, but not Open Carry in their business?

Probably a big negative side of open carry. More businesses will see the guns and post 30.06 signs. Out of sight, out of mind was probably a concealed carry advantage.

90% of the "30.06" signs aren't valid anyways.

I don't tell anybody how to run their business but I choose which businesses to patronize.

I love this answer. Because it's stupid. If a business just has a sign that says "No weapons" and you carry in there they can make you leave. If you don't it is a trespass violation. The sign may not concur with the legal definition of a 30.06 sign but it still says your weapon is not welcome and they can prevent you from carrying on their property. Doesn't mean you violated a 30.06 law, but as in any private property situation, the owner or owner agent can refuse you access to the property.

New signage from HB910 regarding open carry:

Quote:

"Pursuant to Section 30.07, Penal Code (trespass by license holder with an openly carried handgun), a person licensed under Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code (handgun licensing law), may not enter this property with a handgun that is carried openly"

The 30.06 signs are changing as well to reflect licensing will apply to both concealed or open carry:

Quote:

"Pursuant to Section 30.06, Penal Code (trespass by license holder with a concealed handgun), a person licensed under Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code (handgun licensing law), may not enter this property with a concealed handgun"

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.
