Really I am asking two questions...
Best American brass for 270WSM?
Best brass period for 270WSM?
The answer to both might be the same, might not. I have been using Federal brass obtained by purchasing a couple of boxes of factory loads. They've been loaded quite a few times, and the primer pockets are finally getting a bit sloppy.
- So I've decided to buy new brass and retire the old stuff. My wife wants them for a craft project. I thought I'd drill out the primer hole on one to use as a bore guide for cleaning. I shoot a single-shot, so bore guides made for bolt guns are useless.

I like Winchester brass in American made & Lapua in euro made & over all...if it made for the caliber in question. I supect WW is made in all of the WSM's. I was able to pickup couple hundred 300WSM when I got the gun & haven't needed to look for Lapua yet.
In the past I've used Federal as a "Field Brass" as it's close to WW's in powder capacity....but as you've found out the primer pockets are the 1st thing to go in Fed brass, so my hunting loads are in Federal Brass, PP's or very tired WW's so I'd don't get all OCD about picking up brass instead of watching where the critter went. Winchester is decent brass for the 270 WSM. If you want longer case life, I'd go Nosler or Norma. Win brass has a little more case capacity, and can get a little higher speeds.
