I have an Ithaca model 37 featherlight and I have had it awhile now and noticed some ejection problems. It will fire eveytime but sometimes when you rack to eject it will also eject the shell it was about to load. Any issues that yall know. And I have completely dissembled and have not noticed anything visually wrong. Any suggestions would be appreciated

The majority of the time, when someone asks me to take a look at their older shotgun that isn't working, it simply needs a serious cleaning and light oiling. I always inspect all the springs, where the springs attach(department store guns tend to wear out here), and check for burrs.

Sounds like the lift gate is staying up/hanging up after the fired shell is ejected and when the forend is moved forward for the next shell is ejecting...good cleaning should take care of it..

My dad had this issue with one he bought in 2007. It was a new made one. I tried everything I could think of but in the end I sent it back to Ithaca and they fixed it returned it for free (it was still under warranty). They said there was a small burr in the chamber that caused my problem, but I can't say that's your problem.

If you can't figure it out I'd give Ithaca a call to see what they'd charge to fix it. http://www.ithacagun.com/serviceoverview.php

I've got an old Remington 17...same design. It amazes me that the danged thing works at all. Heck of a dove gun!
