 what scope do I get?

I got an AR15 in trade and want to get a scope on it. Already has a nice bull barrel on it, Im going to use it for varmints, hogs, the occasional deer, etc. I would think no shots over 300-400. Ive been told all kinds of different things by people. Put a hunting scope on it, put a tactical scope on it, etc... Whats the right direction?

Standard first question. What's your budget?
Then hopefully what I list is in it.
SS 3-9 Mil/ Mil
Vortex Viper PST 2.5-10 Mil/Mil. They have it in FFP and SFP. You can save some money going SFP, but remember a Mil is only a Mil at 10X. Not a big deal since that's where you'll shoot distance anyway.

Vortex Viper PST 2.5-10 Mil/Mil. They have it in FFP and SFP. You can save some money going SFP, but remember a Mil is only a Mil at 10X. Not a big deal since that's where you'll shoot distance anyway. For this very reason I'm considering the PST 2.5-10x44 (SFP). It's $200-300 less than the 2.5-10x32 FFP.
