Went today-largest vendor group I've seen there in a while, but not only were there not many deals, most prices were grossly out of line. $18 for a 100 rds of CCI MiniMag? $15 for reman 9mm 50rds? $529 for a used M&P 9? Ouch.

Sad to say, but I used to never miss a local show. But in the last few years, I attend probably less than 20% of them. The reasonable prices (not even deals) are few and far between. Tom Larson usually knocks sales out of the park (due to reasonable prices, great product knowledge, and personable customer service), while the other venders sit around and moan about how slow they are... I guess they can't put two and two together.
A little bit of brass, primers, and an old ammo can are the only things that I can remember buying in SEVERAL years...

Decent gun shows are few and far between. The show in Allen a couple weeks ago was horrible. Dealer's asking $75.00 for a brick of .22. Another had the Glock 43 for $675.00
And yes, those are the one's who beech the loudest.

I do appreciate that there were a LOT of vendors-again, this was the largest show I've seen in Lubbock in probably 5 or more years. I like to look at guns, so it was fun to go, but there's only about one-two items I need and I didn't see them at the show. I did see a nice Zeiss 4-14 that had a pretty good price on it but it wasn't a scope I wanted. I don't know if I could have gotten a good price on anything had I been willing to haggle, but they were so high to begin with I kind of doubt it.
Some other real winners:
Sightmark Photon XT 4.6 that has been selling on here for $499 minus coupon, for only $829 with FREE (ooh!) Rock River PEPR type mount. Delton Lite Sport for $799-these were the ones PSA ran for $449 a few weeks ago. HEAVILY used Springfield TRP for $1450 Generic drop in quad rails ($15-30 items) for $80-100.

Yup. I've quit going to most of the shows. I enjoy going and seeing/handling all the firearms but am sick to death of rubbing elbows with the rocket scientist types that show up (both vendors and general public) that know next to nothing about values, firearms in general, etc. and talk absolute nonsense. Not too keen on getting muzzle swept every 5 seconds either. Pricing most of the time is just on the other side of stupidity, but I'm sure there's deals to be found periodically. It must be just me getting old and intolerant.

I believe I saw the words 'oh ch!t' form on his lips; at least he knew he'd done wrong.

I haven't been to a good gun show in about 3 years.
I think gun dealers have done more to ruin gun shows than democrats. They can be the grumpiest people I've ever seen.
