I start summer school on wednesday, so I did a quick overnight trip to the farm to get some work done. Got some taxidermy picked up, got the baits set up for bear season that opens in a week or two, got the landowner tags paperwork dropped off at Game and Fish, and did a bunch of chores around the house. It's been a loooooong but productive day. The antelope turned out great, but I was kind of disappointed with the bear. It looks like they didn't use a big enough form so the bear looks like a deflated balloon. The bear wasn't too large but the form makes it look much smaller than it was. That is my fault though and Texas Wildlife Taxidermy will get my next one for sure. There's nothing to do about it at this point so I'm just gonna say that was a lesson learned and call it a day. I got some scouting done too and the antelope, mulie, and whitetail crop is looking very good for this year! Not seeing much bear activity yet but it's still pretty cold up here so I think that's why. No elk to be seen but they're probably up on the mountain now and will head down to our pastures in late october/early november. Still thanking God every day for the opportunities he has given me out here on the frontier. It's truly an amazing place and I'm so grateful for the nature out here!

I named it the "Boeing" buck because his horns look like airplane wings.

Both mounts look really nice!
I guess the bear mount size would depend on how much hide the taxi had to work with.
Looks like you are setup for this season

Looks like on the bear the taxi didn't fluff the hair as it was drying hence the small look.
