This is a last minute deal on a great 57000 acre ranch in New Mexico that has yet to be hunted this season. In fact these birds have never been called before! For a group of 2-4 guys I can offer a semi guided 1 bird bag limit hunt for $500/hunter. Act fast as season ends May 10th! Ranch is located near Clayton, NM. Call me at 806-333-4358 or email at sagebrushhunts@gmail.com

Jeremy

Here are a couple videos from the ranch.

Clayton NM is rio grande country. Why are you pawning it off as a merriams hunt? Let's be honest with people. Thanks

I will be the first to admit Im not a turkey expert. I do have some close friends that are diehard turkey hunters that say these are merriams. Did you watch the videos? Do they not look like merriams to you?

I did some research on the Merriams just recently (because I have a Rio from the northern TX Panhandle that sure has white looking tips in is tail feathers), and what I came up w/ is the bronze-looking band that runs through the black just below the tips (as in your top picture). I could find no proof that this distinguished a Merriams from a lightly-tipped Rio, but I would sure say the Toms in your photos and videos are Merriams. I recently lived in Clayton, and killed a Tom less than 20 miles from town, and he was a Rio. So, it looks as if the area around Clayton has both Rios and Merriams. But yours, Jeremy, definitely look to be Merriams to me.

IF Jeremyks made a mistake, I guarantee it was a honest mistake.

I believe it may be possible to have Rio's at lower elevations and Merriams at higher elevations in the area discussed.

Well I took a chance and went with Jeremy last week. I'm not going to get into the Rio/Merriam debate but I will tell you he is booked up for next year if he gives me an opportunity. It's a big unique property with a good opportunity to hunt turkey in NM. I have zero complaints. I mostly hunt diy and like most of you here was concerned that I was hunting Merriams instead of the Rios that I have hunted here in Tx for years. My opinion is the absolute same as gamblinman on this one and I have the birds (2) to back that theory up
