Old leather an super tool. I have carried it since I worked for them in the mid 90s. I like the new ones but haven't been able to wear out this one. I have worn out two sheaths though.
And your answer to the price question is that 9.99 is about half of their cost. That was a great deal.

I had a Leatherman tools for several years...lost it....my wife and sons bought me a Schrade tough tool.

I was given a Leatherman Skeletool CX, and I loved it. It was light, small, simple, didn't get clogged up, and was easy to rinse after saltwater. It only has 8 tools on it, but I used all of them often. None of the tools went unused. I dropped it on the jetty, and it was gone. I was very disappointed, when I went to look for a new one, and found it was 70 to 90 bucks. I think the higher price is because they use a tiny bit of carbon fiber on the frame, but that still seems a bit much to me.
