Well I made it back for my annual turkey hunt and to pick up my mounts from last year. We caught fish, turkey hunted, and picked morels. I haven't closed the deal on one of these easterns yet as we have seen a lot of goblers. They just don't want to talk and have been with hens. I have one more morning to give it a shot. They have also picked up over 230 sheds around the area this year and a few dead really nice bucks. Looking forward to heading back up here in October. Thought I would share a few pics .

These are some of the better sheds that they picked up this year.

That's awesome, I remember the monster you took last year, looks like your chances are pretty good there for a repeat.

Got to hunt turkey up their once about 7-8 years ago, had a total blast as well. Those shed are darn nice, good to see after finding a few big ones dead. Doesn't appear to be a shortage of bucks.

They had been wanting to add a cedar tree like this and found one this year. This was an actual rub they found and cut the cedar down.

Yes sir I have found the farther north you get the better. It seems like after you get across the Missouri river you start getting into bigger deer.

The cost of the Mo. N/R any deer tag is supposed to nearly double for this coming season. Will be interesting to see how that goes.

I had heard that also and I called the dept of conservation and they told me the cost would still remain at $225.00. They may not be able to tell me till it comes official but the lady clearly told me that the price was not going up.

My brother lives in Mo. and has been attending the open forum meetings that they are having and he say's that he is sure that they are going up. Their justification is that all of the adjoining states are much higher and N/R hunters from those states are getting to come to Mo. to hunt a second buck on the cheap. Guess we shall see but if it goes up to much I won't be coming back. The deer that we hunt just aren't of a high enough quality to pay $400.00 and maybe not shoot one as I haven't taken one the last 3 seasons that I have hunted there. I am very selective and just wont shoot a young buck.
