Not so fast.

With all the early rain, crops will be cut much sooner and plowed away

I'm ready. I've been pretty disappointed in the public land the last couple years. Not many birds and way to many guns. I think this season I may try a day hunt or two somewhere.

I have my dove hunting skills honed to a fine sharp edge. My wife and I get on the ranger and drive about 4 miles to our tank we reserve for us. It has a sand flat at one end. We set up two really comfortable lawn chairs. @ yards away we put the most ridiculous dove tower you have ever seen. In between us we put a cooler full of Dos Equis, a cut lime and a church key. We shoot the whiz out of doves and enjoy being together and enjoy being alive. I let her shoot them off the tower as long as they don't land next to the mojo. I wear a camo tshirt, khaki shorts and my prescription costas. Even in Freer, Texas you find me wearing my crocs sporting the white knee high socks. I aint a fashion statement, I am me.

Dos Equis and Freer, Texas isn't an event, it is a way of life. We don't even get out of the lodge until the sun gets low in the west.

Yep. Got a new shotgun to wear them out with and I know from there it's just a little bit to bow season.
