I had signed up for a shooting match and paid my entry fee in advance. I also paid for a shirt too. I had to back out of the match several weeks before the shoot because my work didn't give me my requested days off. After the shoot took place, I inquired about getting the shirt I payed $20 for. I understood donating the entry fee because I was holding a spot. The match director stated he gave the volunteering ROs the extra shirts, but offered to refund the $20. I agreed. Well, after almost 2 months, he says he doesn't feel that he is required to give a refund. He says he's out the money because he had to get a custom shirt maker to make them.

How could the match director be out money, when I paid for a shirt? Also, he already is ahead by the match fee I paid that I didn't ask for back.

Everyone handles things differently... Here's my take: If I've asked for the T-shirt or the cash, and the director would not provide either one, then I'd chalk it up as a $20 loss. Not because he's right...but because if his integrity is only worth $20 then I choose to give him the 20 and never associate myself with anything he is involved with in the future. I consider it a bargain to learn a lesson about a man's integrity for a mere $20.

If all of what you state is the truth, then it would be a service to your fellow Forum Members to post up details.
Names, Organizations etc.
I would not want anybody else getting mistreated.

Still sucks to blast someone over $20, even if I do agree with it. I'm surprised they don't make something so small right

He made the decision to give your shirt away, not you. As far as I am concerned you bought a shirt and didn't get it.

Couldn't someone else take your match spot? My question is did the fill your spot and double dip?

I agree that $20 is a cheap lesson in the grand scheme of things.
I'm sure most of us have been kicked much harder than that.

That being said, would anyone here want to associate with people of that character?
It's not the dollar amount, it's the mindset.
There is a word for that type of person.
Since I wasn't involved, I'll bite my tongue.

Yep. I was in a similar situation with a member on here. I'm out maybe $20 but he'll never get my business again, he couldn't care less, and I'll never recommend his services even though he does fine work.

Apparently $20 is worth more than the word or the reputation of that director. I'd do the forum a service and share his name.

I'm out $800+ because a dealer in Indiana (now former dealer) ran a group buy and then stole half the money to take a trip to Vegas and make payments on his mortgage. ATF took their FFL license after guns went missing a couple of times and the courts said they had to pay back the money. They haven't paid out a dime.

It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

I'll bet the guy is wearing the shirt around as we speak.

Nothing to handle, just chalk it up as a cheap lesson on the guy.

IMO he owes you a shirt or $20, his choice.

I believe you're owed the money considering a t shirts cost less than $10 to make. That means there was $60 free money to that association. What makes it worse is the crawfish in that took place after the fact and guessing it was all written somewhere. To easy to make it right. It's a shame the world revolves around money and vagina like this

$20 ain't worth me losing sleep over. I have better things to worry about: like if my watermelons are going to drown if this weather keeps up with the rain or if Hillary is going to be our next president.
