A buddy of mine told me he had a "big 8 and big 10" in his yard once in late April, but he's proned to lying so I just figured he was.

Several years ago we would always go down to Choke Canyon State Park for vacations. We went with my church youth group in the fall and saw a real wide 6pt with no brows in the middle of November that was still in velvet. Later the next year we went back on summer vacation in June and we saw the same deer but in hard antler while his buddies either had no antlers or nubs.

Saw two hard horned a few years back on April 22. There were 3 deer running at a distance and the last 2 were horned bucks. I assumed that the lead deer was also a buck that had already dropped his horns and this was a bachelor group. Surely it was not a doe that the two bucks were pursuing????

I've heard of fawns coming into cycle and being bred in March in Dimmit county. That's the latest I'd ever heard of any reproductive activity.

Saw one with one antler on the opening weekend of April turkey season one year.

Recently got a gym membership, strange folks! I like to show up the roid zombies with my full motion curls with the 55lb. bells. Not their cheater short stroked light weights. It's holarious.

I believe we have deer bread into February nearly every year in Duval Co. We didn't observe real rutting sign until first or second week of January this year.

This probably needs to be posted in the food section.

Looks to be a northern whitetail, due to the body size and antler configuration. Plus it looks like its trying to jump over a pine tree

Deer bread is the past tense of deer breed?

I have photos in east Texas with deer still in full antlers late March and early April. A late season 2014 birth just came into his button buck stage in March 2015. He was the result of the late or what I call second rut in 2013.

Just outside of Presidio Texas first week of May 2 years ago I saw a large racked mule deer that still had both sides
standing by a smaller buck with velvet nubs.
