TSRA members and Texas CHLs Oppose HB 2405 by Nevarez

This Tuesday, April 7th, the House Committee on Homeland Security and Public Safety will hear public testimony on HB 2405 by the committee vice chairman, Poncho Nevarez (D).

HB 2405 would significantly change the size, shape, and content of the PC 30.06 sign, putting over 400,000 concealed handgun licensees at risk of being charged with criminal trespass.

The PC 30.06 language and sign have been in statute for 18 years and over time most businesses removed their signs, not because of the size or shape of the sign, but because licensees carrying handguns proved to be a non-issue, a non-problem.

In many cases business owners listened to their CHL customers who pledged to take their business elsewhere.

There is NO need, NO reason for Change!

Please contact members of the House Committee on Homeland Security and Public Safety and urge committee members to oppose HB 2405.
Thanks for your help!

This above is a link to the bill, apparently this yahoo thinks a pictorial of a handgun with a red circle and slash through it, (which I and most knowledgeable CHL holders in Texas simply ignore) should be good enough.

Burrowed this from the 1911forum. Mods if a thread is already up regarding this, please delete

Your link is a dead end.

A Democracy is when two wolves and a lamb vote on the dinner menu. That is why this country was specifically not designed as a Democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic.

All this does is change the sign a bit and require they be posted at ALL entrances which is not done now.

I don't see what the problem is with this bill.

Nevarez is anti gun so that gives me reason to question this bill. The anti group Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America is also for it. The bill also says the sign could be no larger than 8.5 x 11 inches.
The 30.06 sign we have now is larger and easier to see than this one would be.

Try this one. Don't see a need to fix what is not broken.

Something like this is what he is looking for.

If that is the case would this be acceptable??

What about this?

Today the law is very clear on the size and wording ot the apppropriate 30.06 sign.

Funny thing about getting older:
Your eyesight starts getting weaker but your ability to
see through people's BS gets much better.
