I am new to the UTV side by sides , I am looking for opinions about the Ranger 570 full size or the Yamaha Viking. the Ranger is about a $1000 cheaper, but I am trying to choose between the two, any pro's and con's would be appreciated .

thanks in advance

Ranger.

Have had a 500 for a decade. It can't be killed and my son is damn sure trying.

The Viking is nice but rangers are also.. Drive them both and take your pick.. One big thing I like about the Viking is they are much more comfortable as far as seats and riding but they are loader also

GET the VIKING!!!!!!!!!!!!! The comparison is not even close. The Viking can do anything that needs to be done. Comfort, Speed (50mph with three people)) and Dependability it has no equal in it's class. Will eat up a Polaris 800 I love mine and would bot even consider letting it go. Works great in the Swamps, and will climb Rough Terrian. Has great pulling power. You would need to get bigger tires since the Viking comes with 25".

P.S. Welcome to the Swamp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have owned 1 Polaris ATV and will never buy another Polaris product. I have owned a Yamaha outboard, scooter and now a Rhino and none of them were ever in the shop for anything but normal maintenance. Can't go wrong with Yamaha.

We (everyone I know) runs Polaris from here to out in West Texas (some of these guys run Dodge's too so...). Run them hard and use them daily. No issues with any of them. My uncle is selling his 08 800 crew, it has 20,000 (twenty thousand) ranch miles on it to buy a new 900, had a belt break other than that no breakdown's. I know guys that have torn the entire A arm assembly off one side in a sure enough wreck (tree stump at 40 mph) and put them back together and run another 5 years. Anything can be destroyed. Run what ever makes you happy. I have known many with Polaris and none of them have been problematic. On another note, my buddy was doing doughnuts in a grass field on a Terex (sp) and rolled it, tweaked the frame bad enough that insurance totaled it. I have seen a 500 Ranger roll down a hill (5-6 flips maybe more) that should have killed the driver and he drove it back to the trailer and after a few new parts has run it for years.

This one is my wife's. Didn't make it in the first pic. We only use the trucks to get to camp with all the boats etc. after that it's all Polaris.

I have owned 3 Rangers - they went downhill in quality with each one I bought. If running them on dirt roads that are flat and nothing else then probably ok. If you want to use it - mud, hills, etc. then buy another brand - their customer service is HORRIBLE - they do not care. I had to hire a lawyer to send a letter to get them to respond.

You can't fix stupid

Cant beat the ride quality of the Ranger. I run a 2014 Ranger 900 and it has truly been a game changer.

Can't compare the two, but I KNOW Yamaha makes great engines.

I highly recommend the ranger. Get you a set of good tires and you can go anywhere. Ive had 3 of them and never had any issues. Change the oil/ services like you are recommended to and they will run forever.
