I'm looking to upgrade my chronograph. I thought there was newer technology that used radar or something similar. I am looking for a unit like this. I did multiple searches, but evidently my Google and YouTube foo is not working today. I currently have a CED M2 and like it a lot, but I would like something without the sky screens. Yes, I know about the Magneto, but it's not what I'm looking for, since it straps directly to the barrel. I don't want anything with sky screens. And the first person who recommends a Shooting Chrony gets 2 to the body and one to the head!

The labradar units have good reviews but aren't cheap.

No problem. I'll be interested in hearing how you like it after using it a bit.

$559 for the radar unit. I'll get the carry bag also. I have a stand that will work for it already. $600 for a unit like this is pretty good, I think. The CED M2 I'm using now has some errors at the peak of the day when the sun is high in the sky. It can be frustrating when you are testing subsonic ammo, and you get an error and have to load more ammo up and shoot again. It's what I have used for many years with great success and is a good unit. But I'm looking for something more simple and streamed lined and easier to use. Fighting with tripods and such is wearing me out.

Wonder how it will work on a busy range day with others shooting around you? Can't wait to see your input on this !

One of the few reviews list's a busy range as a possible concern but no definitive data one way or the other. This area is definitely a place where the magneto speed holds an advantage.

Well, I was expecting way more than $600, at that price it sure may be something I see in my near future. I am tired of all the tripod setup and various readings with changing light conditions myself, and that is with a private range where I have rebar stakes driven in the ground as markers for where each leg of the tripod should sit.
Something like this unit would be really nice if it performs as advertised.

I spoke to the guy about a busy range. He said there are 5 sensitivity levels. If there are people near you, you reduce the sensitivity of the unit, and it will reduce the radar to a smaller cone. This is why the unit sits right next to the muzzle of your rifle, so it picks up your round. I'm not too worried about this, since I often shoot with no one around, or minimal shooters near me.

I have a 200 yard range here at work where I shoot at least a few rounds nearly every day. It is just my own range, there is never anyone else there so that wouldn't be an issue for me.
The more I look at that unit, the more I like it. I will be very interested in hearing a review on it when you get yours in. I have had three chronographs over the years, and have never really been satisfied with any of them.

I have had one of those like wingman.26 shows, and have seen a couple more! I think there is even a club for people who have made that mistake.

No, have not received it yet. The magneto is a great unit. It works very well. BUT, it does change your barrel harmonics with it on the barrel, and will alter your groups and POI with it attached. I have spoken to many shooters about this, and that is something I can not have with how I use a chrono. I'll keep using my CED M2 until I get the radar unit.

I like the premise of this unit. If I wanted to I could get a sd card for each gun and theoretically chrono every shot. Also it makes set up the easiet. I just am curious if it's as good as it looks.
Do you have an eta?

Spoke to them, and am now on the wait list for the product! God luck. I've known people on the list for a year now and still no units available. It was supposed to be out last fall, then spring, then June 1 was for sure and now who knows when. But if you do get it please let us know how it works. I am very interested in one.

They are saying the first batch is in to them but all sold. The next batch is due approx sept. I read somewhere else there manufacture had some health issues (or something like that) which lead to the delay.
