My 8yr old has a Cub Scout pinewood derby next week, so we've been working on his car. Of course, his brother and sister decided they wanted to make cars too. They each designed their own and I helped with cutting them out and adding some weight.

I recently saw some videos on youtube of people painting guitars and other things by "swirl painting" them. They float oil based paint on the surface of water and dip them in. The kids decided it would be fun to try on the cars. It didn't turn out exactly like we hoped, but not bad for our first try. Here are the results...
