Can anyone tell me about the deer hunting around Rosanky in Bastrop County. Does it have a good population? Quality deer? Is there a turkey population too? Thanks for the help!

Not exactly Rosanky but not too far, either. I know of some serious toads taken in the area between Lockhart, Luling, Gonzales, Seguin and San Marcos. I'm talking multiple 160+" bucks, especially around Staples and Fentress in the San Marcos bottom. My buddy has some land near Fentress along the river, and his family has taken at least 3 deer that I know of that would make a lot of south Texas hunters jealous. One of the biggest bucks I've ever seen was a huge typical 12 point just south of Staples on the river, every bit of 160". I think it depends on the property, there are a lot of open/agricultural areas that don't look like they'd be that good. I'd expect the population to be lower than most of the surrounding areas but still huntable if you've got good cover. Along a decent size creek or watershed and it could be a diamond in the rough if its it the right property.
