When I started loading I always just picked a load that would give the velocity I wanted if it didn't group I wrote it off as a no go. Thanks to this forum and my own experiences I have learned that not every rifle will like x, y, or z charge. You need to see what you gun likes.

Red Chevy, both guns like Norma IMR, 4831, 7828. Just trying to get reviews on what charge most people find to be accurate with H1000.

from berger: H1000 -- Start: 62.5 2669 Max: 69.5 2987

EDIT -- here's the data that Berger's support team sent to me as they sent it.

Berger's support staff is awesome and extremely helpful -- techsupport [a] bergerbullets.com.

I will keep this up for a limited amount to time, let me know if you cannot see it:

Judd always tells me where Berger lists max charge, that's where he starts and works up from there.

I vaguely remember their listed max charge for my 7 Rem Mag was way below where the rifle started shooting. Check the books, and check Hodgdon.com as well. Get as many sources of data as you can.

Yeah their max on the 168VLD looks a hell of a lot like where you settled on the 180VLD

I have the Berger manual and lots of others, I'll start from scratch, was hoping to cut some time but looks like it will be an all day affair.

Tuning a load to a specific rifle typically is a several hour/day affair. Have fun and good luck.
