Any of you Tikka T3 owners have any experience with these stocks? They fall between the B&C and the Manners/McMillan cost-wise. I have a T3 in 6.5x55 with a B&C on it and am very happy with it. I have a T3 Hunter in 270 that I plan on getting rebarreled, probably to a 6.5x284. I like the factory stock on it but have always wanted a thumbhole style, but don't have McMillan money. Here's the one that has caught my eye:

Thanks in advance.

Looks just like a Boyd's laminate thumbhole model to me.

Take a look at this stock it is what I went with and like it a lot. KRG rifle stock

And if you decide to go with the mountain tactical stock make sure they have them in stock. They have been pretty bad about not letting me know that my order is not in stock and cant tell me when it will be available. I ordered one of there 20MOA rails and have no idea when I will get it. Had to order an EGW from different vendor.

Unless it comes with some type of bedding block or pillar bedding (or both) I wouldn't spend that kind of money on a laminate stock. Working off the assumption that it's just a plain laminate stock, you would come out WAY ahead buying a boyds and having it bedded.

I ordered one of their expensive stocks, looks really cool, and three days after they were supposed to have shipped it to me I called them...took two days to get a hold of them and they told me they were having shipping problems. I ask when they would have it and after wasting 5 minutes talking in circles the guy finally told me he had no idea. I requested a refund which he did and I bought a KRG and I've never looked back. Glad they didn't have it now. I love the KRG.

Forget this stock, krg doesn't make a tikka stock for long action calibers. Short action only. Running a 6.5x284 in an aics short action mag is a waste of time.

Yep, they are giving me the run around also on a scope base. Ordered 2/17
They like to charge my CC though and tell me what I want to hear.

Thanks for the insights guys. Any time I need some guidance I know that I can post here and get the true facts. The customer service is often just as important as the quality of the product. The original Hunter stock on my T3 is starting to look better and better. up

I am not a Tikka fan, but I thought the only action they made was a long action. Short calibers were built on the long action with a bolt stop pin.

He's talking about the mag well not being setup for long action calibers not the action itself.

You're both right....

6.5x284 is a waste of time below 3 inches. Those aics mags won't work, and krg doesn't offer tikka stocks for long action calibers.

Gotcha, my bad, was only thinking of receiver only, not magazine. hammer
