2 rangers rode up on the trailer, the 6w had to push the 4w one out elk loaded to keep from chaining up, bc it's had the same load on it (just didn't get the full pic of it) Another trailer like that was there and hauled the jeep up, so once the jeep came off, the other guys got the trucks and each took a ranger on a trailer and I got the jeep. We do leave the kitchen sink back in TX though.

I have seen the full mounts and they do appear smaller in person to me as well.
The picture of that plow moose is a beast!

Yeah. Bill had buds nearby, with two horses all week. They headed home three hours before I shot my bull I do like the look you're giving the camera person in the pic you're doubled over. Just trying not to die.

only have seen a cow moose in the wild, I initially thought it was a tall horse. I killed an elk up around timberline 5-6 miles from nearest road. I didn't think much about it till I started trying to gut that sucker by myself. I had a friend that lived in the area that had access to horses. The next day he loaded two horse in the bed of his truck (talk about goofy looking) and his buddy loaded one in his truck. my friend, his friend and his 90 year old grandfather road the horses up the mountain while I walked. The grandfather had brought a double edged axe. We used the axe to chop down the back bone leaving the hair on and put a side of elk on each of the two horses. I was assuming the head/neck was going on the 3rd horse until the old grandfather said "son, I rode this horse up here and I plan on riding this horse off here and if you want those f###ing horns, you can carry them yourself". I said well, is there a way to cut the antlers off the head (to save 70-80+ lbs carrying). The old guy grabbed the axe, drew it back behind his head while holding on the antlers and with one mighty whack, split the skull down to the eye socket. spun it around and similar whack across the bridge of the nose, then handed me the rack. Those in them-self was a pretty good load while also carrying my rifle back down the 5-6 miles. I learned a whole lot in those 2 days.

I had to stop once (in Northern New Hampshire) to let a Bull Moose cross the highway. He had no regard for my 4wd truck, just walked across the road right in front of me. His junk hung well above my hood ornament (RamCharger Company Truck). Big is an understatement.
