This guy was guarding the feeder as usual when a fly came by. He missed him. The last 2 photos I think are of the same bird, the sun
from a different angle just makes the color appear different.

Couple of photos added. When the Skink showed up just below the feeder. The hummers wouldn't feed. Never had a skink that
looks quite like this show up before.

Hahaha. I see what you did there, Creek...I think the ruby throated and the blue throated birds are not the same bird. I love those little guys.

And they aren't the same bird. One is a Ruby Throated and the other is a Black Chinned. We have never had a black chinned at my house. I think we are too far east.

You might be right. I saw the original bird fly up to a tree above and just a minute or so later one came from the same area. I have
at least 6 to 8 hummers showing up now. I am setting up a corner of the garden just for them. I have planted Honeysuckle, Turks Cap, Hummingbird bush and Shrimp plant just to attract them, in addition to 2 feeders. I watch them for hours every week.

Don't forget trumpet vine & Butterfly bush. They love both.

I had a young Butterfly bush that I lost in the freeze a couple months back. Its on my list again.
