Looking for a mini dvr for my NV scope. Anyone ever used an angel eye and if so, what's your feedback.

most angel eyes (650 and 750) do not record sound, although I have some that do
which scope are you using?

I've been using one for about 2 years and it just works. The angel eyes do record sound but do not have a built in microphone. The cable that runs from the camera to the night vision has three leads just like any audio/video VCR or DVR with yellow for video and red/white for sound. If you don't have a microphone, you don't get any sound. I am using a CCT video camera microphone that I power by a 9V battery. I picked it up of ebay for under $10 and converted it to work with the angel eye. It's not great but I get sound.
I have used mine on my N750, my Photon 5X and my Pulsar N550 Recon hand scanner. They also come with a "button hole spy" camera. It's a decent little camera and I mount it on my Honda Rancher and record trail rides and the camera has a microphone built into it.

The Angel Eyes is a good product for its cost, don't spend more than 75 bucks shipped to your door from a US retailer. Recording videos without sound allows for the opportunity to play with sound effects in your video editing program, here is some Angel Eyes footage and bullet time sound effects from when I used to use the Angel Eyes Of course since I converted to a DVR that has sound recording capability I haven't looked back, there just isn't much alternative to real sound in my opinion. Of course the downside to having audio is editing OUT the sounds that you don't want to publish HAVE FUN WITH IT !
