The Hamon continues I love clay quenching, I know I'll be making a lot more. I have one more glued up and ready to be worked soon. Both are my model # 104's. This one has G-10 bolsters pinned with carbon fiber pins, the handle is mesquite stabilized with my stabilizer fluid that doesn't need any finish put on the wood. I sanded it down to 600 grit and buffed it out... it's smooth as glass and water resistant.

Good to hear from you brother... You as well. Things have been pretty busy up until about 2 weeks ago. Take care.

Did a hamon on a Damascus blade once. I had mixed feelings on it but the customer who ordered it loved it.

Did a hamon on a Damascus blade once. I had mixed feelings on it but the customer who ordered it loved it. I love the look of a hamon and have for years; there are some serious knife collectors that buy hamon knives only. I work on larger blades little at a time and sell most of those on Face Book. Knives like this little one I make and sell pretty fast; so I can keep my shop going. I also only water quench with my concoction of mixture that I've developed over the years I find that it defines the ashi line so much better than fast oils, water quenching is not for the faint of heart. So far I've never cracked or warped a knife using my method. This is a pretty interesting article from Blade Magazine. http://www.blademag.com/knifemaking/the-hamon-what-where-why-and-how

Very nice! That blade reminds me of a sports car, you know how they look fast just standing still. Well that looks sharp just sitting there. Excellent!
