Any know how the movement is looking out there? Heading down friday and hopefully going to put one on the ground if the rain ain't too bad.

Hunted the hill bosque line opening morning birds were talking. Popped one in 20 minutes.

They were moving in neighboring hamilton county last weekend. Saw plenty but just couldn't pull the toms away from the hens. I could've shot some of the jakes that were everywhere but I'm holding off for a mature gobbler.

Saw 3 birds walking along a fence as I was passing through this afternoon on hwy 22 just east of meridian.

Well I didn't get to hunt friday, I did get to hunt yesterday though. Those toms were gobbling up a storm but never would respond to calling. I ended up seeing 6 toms and a few hens but none of the toms came in close enough to shoot. Oh well, maybe next time.
