5.11 has something like that. I just use a Camel Back with a holster attatched to it, the gun sits between my body and the Camel Back. It's not very comfortable for a long time, and would never wear it like that when mountain biking. Just a though

I've always thought that the fanny pack was the perfect tool for this occasion. It's just a crying shame that you'll have the be "that person with a fanny pack" to enjoy the benefits.
I'm a dude who likes long barrels!

I made a holster sewn to a heavy duty elastic band for wearing gym shorts and such. It is an IWB set-up, and I carry my small Kahr PM40 in it. That pistol is light enough to sit firmly against my body and stay in place when running. It can be positioned at any angle and at any height, anywhere on your body. With a heavy, full size 1911 loaded with ammo, there's no way this type of system would work, unless you beefed it up. If you went to a smaller pistol, you'd be ok.
I still want to buy one of those daily planner looking binders that carries a pistol inside it.

5.11 makes a compression style under shirt with holster and mag pouch under the arms. They run about $50 or so. Academy carried them but not sure if they still do.

Belly Band! This. I use a similar one for a 1911. If possible, buy a color that somewhat closely matches your skin tone so it does not contrast through a light colored T-shirt. Buy a couple and make sure they do not have leather one them so they are easy to wash. A couple of dogs in our neighborhood present a very real threat, and make carrying while walking a worthwhile effort.

Yes! I made my elastic holster from this idea. But the holster has velcro on all sides of the holster, and can be sandwiched between two pieces of elastic for changing up the location and gives it sturdy support.

I have two "fanny pack" type bags. One blue denim and one brown leather. Excellent functioning units. I quit using them for a couple of reasons. One was that I kept getting asked if I had a gun in them.
